Proffieboard 2.2 repeating garbled static when plugged in (only audible part being sd card function after it finishes garbling

Everything was working fine before this i hadnt touched the lightsaber for about a day it wasnt turning on normally even though i left it fully charged what I think happened was the sd card was shifted slightly because it was sticking out when I first tried to see what was wrong I removed the battery and took the sd card out and then plugged the sd card into my computer to see everything was fine nothing was corrupted I tried putting the sd card back into the saber to hear a static garbled sentence only the last part being audible to me being “sd card function” I don’t think the board is reading the sd card because even without the sd card it says the same thing does anybody know what is happening???

Do you mean when connected to the computet? This is normal as USB doesn’t provide enough power to run speaker properly.

Try powering up the saber with battery, does the speaker sound normal?

Your computer might be able to handle a little bit of corruption and everything will “look” fine but your Proffieboard and ProffieOS will not handle any corruption.
If you already have a backup/copy of your SD-card (you should), then reformat your SD-card with:

Put the backup back on your SD and try again.

If you don’t have a backup, then do it now and reformat like above.

i cant even power it up with the battery it only makes the garbled sounds mentioning the sd card when its charging not when its plugged in charging.

ill give this a try and update you asap

That would be a different issue, if you remove the SD it should power up, it will give error messages but the lights should work when ignited. If not, there’s an issue with the board beyond the SD.

unfortunately it doesnt turn on normally as in it needs to be plugged in charging for it to light up it lights up but very dimly when i try to ignite it while its on the charger and still says the same message after the unintelligable sounds at the start of it playing the lpart being “sd card function”

Do you have another battery you can try?

unfortunately i dont

It’s probably saying SD-Card not found, it sound like “sd card hot waand” or “hot waound”
These are the other errors ProffieOS can say (if you don’t have #define DISABLE_TALKIE in your config):

  • sd_card_not_found
  • font_directory_not_found
  • voice_pack_not_found (added in OS8)
  • error_in_blade_array
  • error_in_font_directory
  • error_in_voice_pack_version (added in OS8)
  • low_battery

They are not the easiest to hear if you don’t know what to expect.

My guess, your SD-Card is corrupted and maybe your battery is “dead” too ?
What happens if you turn on your saber on battery only and without the SD-Card inserted ?

thats what i also thing that its not reading the sd card because it says the same garbled mumbo jumbo without the sd card also where would i find those error codes im not seeing any in mine

this is in the sd config file

IMO, you’d be best served figuring out your battery issue first. The audio being wonky is perfectly normal without proper battery power. Once you’ve fixed that then you can deal with the SD card, and be more able to actually hear the errors.

The errors themselves though are all sounds. (There’s nothing to see on the sd card) That’s what you’re hearing:

Are you sure you are charging the battery? Where are you plugging into the saber? This sounds like a dead battery or you’re only getting power from USB.

Maybe a pic of where you’re plugging into?

I plug it into the charging port

Are you turning off the kill switch?

Maybe try an external charger for the battery, seems like the battery isn’t charging or there’s an issue with board.

theres a red light indigating that it is charging or receiving power (im pretty sure it means charging cause when it turns green it means its fully charged)

reformatting unfortunately didnt do anything

my core doesnt have a kill switch

Have you ever taken out the battery, and is it possible you flipped it?
