Odd Sound cut off/Muting issue

After a few minutes of use and while the saber is one, all sound including clash, blast, lockup and hum will cut off but the leds will work and respond to those “events” {clash, lockup etc} normally. Not sure what the problem is…Here is my first attempt in serial monitor after plugging in the board while the issue is occuring:

Here is my second run in serial monitor, but the problem is not occurring at this time. Note i see a voltage difference (not sure what that means). Also, when i swing sometimes my serial monitor stopped responding:

Here is my third run, problem not occuring (cant get it to).
**Note, checked my battery voltage prior to turning saber on and it was 3.61 but serial monitor notes 3.36 (could this be my problem)
**Note: Serial monitor notes a “twist on” third to last line but it was actually a twist off that i had done (i dont have twist off in my config)

No, battery voltage being a little lower when the saber is on is normal. That’s what happens when you draw current from a battery.

Probably the cable comes loose a little bit.

Switched prop files to SA22C, problem still occuring…its not the prop files lol. Going to try earlier version of Proffie OS to see if problem occurs

no issues yet using 5.9…turned volume in the config down from 2600 to 2400…sounded like i had some distortion…maybe speaker clipping was the issue? is there a protect mode in the proffieboard that would cut sound if there was too much distortion?

Edit: after vigorously going through every font/style on 5.9 i havent had the issue occur…its 1230am EST…will try again tomorrow

Okay no issues on the saber that switched to 5.9 but this is regarding a different saber…i made a video on the progression of the problem and it seemed to balloon into something else…i just dont know where to upload the video but provides a good example about whats happening…

Turn saber on swing and the sound starts to cut and comes right back on but after about 15 seconds the sound cuts and then only comes back on when the saber starts moving and then cuts out when i stop moving it…after about a few more seconds it turns itself off…this particular saber was experiencing the original issue described above… i dont see metal touching metal anywhere…no crazy stuff under the board…but i will be replacing the sd card for this particular problem now…

Most of this sounds to me like voice coil wire is loose in the speaker. Swing and momentum makes the connection temporarily.
Like tapping an incandescent light bulb to make the filament touch the lead again.

Upload to youtube or google photos and and then link here.

okay so removed and reformatted SD card and also checked battery level after saber turned off…battery had went down from 3.6 volts to 2.9 in a matter of like two minutes. replaced battery and reformatted sd card fixed the problem…so i just dont know if it was the sd card or i have a bad battery but the battery is charging…

too easy roger roger!

After months of using different sabers… i encounter this problem of sound cutting out on several sabers: a brand new Darkwolf LGT Proffie Core, a personal proffie install, a Bendu Armory Proffie …i think its a sound font problem…something in the sound fonts Proffieboard doesnt like and/or OS6.7 doesnt like…im just not sure. I originally thought it was voice coil or something in the speaker but tbh its very odd that i would be having a wide range of speaker problems even after changing speakers…i dont know how to test it further than this or how to figure out why the sound of some fonts are cutting out. This has happened for some Greyscale fonts and an Ahsoka Tano font (unknown maker)
that came on a brand new Darkwolf Proffie LGT core about a day ago (right out the box)…never had problems with Ksith

Can you post a video of what’s happening?

Yea i will later but im at work at the moment.

If it happens ton specific fonts, please let us know exactly what fonts those are so that we can check them for weird files.

will do… im going to try and mark them as i cycle through and then ill let you know

link to my video probkem occuring…sorry its not super short lol

This is quite weird.
I’m wondering if mute gets triggered somehow? Although I don’t really know how.
If it’s muting (for any reason) it should be easy to figure out. After the problem occurs, leave the saber on, plug in an USB cable and run the get_volume command. If it says 0, then it’s muted.

Ive done this boss but it never gives me 0…is there a way to check the fonts and see if there is something in there that proffie doesnt like? and what would i be looking for. I will try the serial monitor once more tho just in case.

So if it’s not muted, then it’s very weird, because I can’t think of anything else in the software that could cause all the sounds to go out.

Is it possible to have USB connected when the problem occurs? (Right when the sound cuts out.)
Maybe the output of the serial monitor will give a clue as to what is going on?

Yes i can get the issue to occur while plugged into Serial Monitor and heres what SM says (i dont know what im looking for tho…dont see any weird event)
