.96 is pretty thin. Good luck with that!
The chassis is actual 24.9mm and my saber should be 1" so I will recheck the size of it
so the way I was doing it is wrong and I’m likely gonna have to redo the whole thing? should I use sketches and padding instead? like how all the the other youtube people say to do It? I found that difficult. but I guess i’m gonna eventually learn the hard way right?
No, but you’ll have to go through the tree and fix the attachments. I had to do it several times. I do wonder if creating sections as their own bodies could mitigate it…?
I did break it up into three parts body was crystal chamber body001 the switch holder and battery compartment, and body002 the proffie tray and speaker (on v5) most of the edits where on that last body but detailing isn’t working as well as I thought.
so i am doing the sketch, part, draft methods to draw those fins, and I’m trying to make a crystal holder but I just managed to make a cylinder, any ideas on how to use the loft feature, I want the base to wider then the hole.
I used a array for the holes and another array to duplicate the fins. though I don’t think i need to do that cause I can just print multiples of the one thing.
I think you may be ahead of me now! I just use Sketcher and Part Design workbenches so far!
yeah I figured out how to use the loft and have created the crystal chamber holder.
didn’t add greeblies but I was trying to use the cut feature and it “removed” the whole thing so I left it as an extrude.
That looks great! Are you making the fins out of plastic or metal?
I’m not sure if there’s anyone here in australia that could 3d print metal.
I may try to get the prototype on a P1S bambu lab ( a buddy of mine has one) except now I need to figure out how to convert to stl.
my current version is 9 and it looks like this.

Just select the bodies you want and File > Export. You probably only need to export one fin and print it multiple times?
yeah it looks like this, let me try that out.
so I’m trying to build the chassis using sketch and part design or part but that’s proving difficult. I have however updated the battery compartment,
the files I turned into stl’s
I’m trying to use the pad and sketcher to pad out the cutouts for the proffie, oled and bt mod. yeah i’m gonna give that a go.
Are the cones to hold the crystal?
The small one is where the led will be and the larger one holds the top and the inhilt pcb. however most pcb vendors provide you with the holder and the lends any way.
some updates, so the greeblies are super simple, just used shapes and the cut boolean, but i like it. it’s good but i messed it up so i started over.
so I think I got it done, thoughts?
left to right top to bottom
- cc fin
- pcb top cc holder
- bottomm cc holder
- battery holder (on the left)
- electronics holder (on the right).
Great work! Are they all held together with threaded rods?
