Yeah. FreeCAD uses *.FCStd files.
Do you want the file?
maybe, if you don’t mind. if ya planning on selling them then I’ll pass.
No it’s a one off design for these specific hilts.
now to figure out if it would fit my sabers. they are 1" ID.
Not likely. This is 27.5 at the bottom, and 25 at the top.
Project is finished and the first hilt is installed! Now to scrounge around and find parts for the second one…
Detail of the accent pixel. Used a clear glass cabochon that I tried to frost up with sand paper. Not happy with the diffusion.
Actuator button has an aurebesh ‘L’ on it for my daughter’s initial.
Chassis is fully removable. Sound is decent, but couldn’t get the speaker enclosed.
this is the one that I made, now to figure out how I did it.
I want to add indents and greeblies to it. should have space for oled but I also want to add some grooves (less boring) and a fs bt909
That looks great! More detail than mine. I was wondering if I could add a basic crystal chamber to my son’s with shine through the RCP hole.
I just wish the app could do calculations more efficiently. Any sort of pattern or helix processing is painful.
I’m trying to use the subtractive pipes and what not and it’s giving me an error, do you know to remove parts from the cylinder?
Do you mean pockets?
yep
that’s exactly what I meant.
What’s the error?
what I do is select the body003, select subtractive pipe and I get,
Cannot use selected object. Selected object must belong to the active body
Consider using a ShapeBinder or a BaseFeature to reference external geometry in a body."
You have to use a sketch.
kind of figuring it out, but with the sketches I find those hards.
so I extended the cylinders and added a bt module holder. I think I need to extend it a bit more, I just find the smoothness of it all very boring.
I guestimated that the speaker is 20mm deep, I think that should be enough. the smugglers outposts speakers are out of stock so I’m using these which are 12mm height.
It’s OK to overestimate the speaker pod as long as there’s something for the rim to rest on.
yeah I used the measurement and my speaker pod was configured for 22mm not 24. so I thinned out the wall to 0.96mm That’s super thin.
I realised a fatal flaw. The chanber had 0 means of inputting the crystal so v7 was born . I’ll make some changes but I’m getting there. I should also add a kill switch.
