i just poured over this picture and that is some work you put in there!
looks absolutely stunning!
if i had the money for something like that… well i’m definitely dreaming now!
I bought each piece slowly over 2 years, and built it myself. It is the pride of my small collection. Patience was key.
i can imagine, but 2 years… that is some dedication!
i’ve seen plenty i like from lots of saber smiths but just can’t afford the price tag, so in all my infinite glory i plunged in to see how much it would cost to build my own from scratch.
and down the rabbit hole i fell
it has been a brilliant project so far and my 3d printer has come in very useful in proving concepts and making sure it feels right before i sent myself to machine the parts up for the hilt.
i’ve nearly finished designing my chassis for it so getting closer.
that is how I started as well, couldnt afford what I wanted, figured it out on my own.
do you make any of these parts for you chassis work?
sorry don’t mean to pry im just super curious.
no, 3D printing and machining are another rabbit hole I cant go down right now. Maybe when I retire.
Start with 3d-printing, it’s simpler, cheaper and takes up less space than machining.
i fully concur with this.
it is definitely a tool any maker should have as it has so many uses.
I have an Anycubic Photon, 1 week use, mint condition
