The Style Build and Edit Learning Curve

I’ve been doing pretty well learning how the different layers function and work so I figure maybe I’ll post a thread so I can keep a log in case I forget any of the little tricks.

For example, I built a blade style but now I can’t remember where I go to delete the white unstable swing effect.

Without looking, I would say you should find the layer that has SwingSpeed in it.

Now looking, There’s no White swing. Just the RandomBlinkL.
P.S. Cyan has become my new fav blade color.

Load the blade style in and then swing it fast. You’ll see what I mean and why I wanna inactivate it.

I’ll removed the RandomBlinkL for now, thanks, that was it.

Pretty fun how you can mess around with the HumpFlicker size after the color numbers to change the pulsing water effect for sparkles like I have for my daughter’s Disney Legacy custom blade by just dropping the number to a “3”.

Fredrik’s working on having a pasted style in the thread here link to and load the Style Editor directly.
For now, you can click on the outermost level of the right hand column in the editor, that populates the URL with the current info. Then use a shortener TinyURL and paste that here.

looks like fredrik is close cause when I clicked the link it open the editor in the app. (i got the api as an app on my desktop.

I’ve been talking to people on the discourse forum about this, and probably the solution is two-fold:

  1. There will be a one thing that reminds you to put triple-backtick before and after pasted style links.
  2. I will be writing a something that makes the auto-linking work within triple-backtick (currently it doesn’t)

So, the recommended way to post style links will be with triple-backtick, even though that doesn’t automatically become linked to the style editor right now.

Let’s see if this backpack corrects since I REALLY could use advise on fixing the pulsing bladestyle so the reds and greens don’t show while the orange pulse works visually.

Edit: Nope, got an error/preview notification, putting them in manually also borked up.

*Yes I already tried changing the RGB line’s values as well as swapped the Orange vs DarkOrange layer pistons. Maybe instead off addressing this as 3 “color” layers insert a really low and dull orange almost black to contradict it?

I got the code swapped around, the first two versions had a thing where the layering made the red and green components of the orange in the pulsing visible. I substituted in a black layer instead and it’s workable.

Not seeing how you mean so let me try that, here’s just the style.
Edit: I click the blue box “Fix Style” and it doesn’t work.

OK, that worked. I needed to remove the end of the code where the battery monitor stuff was, add in one or two > and the () and then the ``` before and three ` after.

The “Fix Post” button is a little misleading, it doesn’t actually fix anything, it just lets you go back and fix it yourself.
