SuperNeox OBI EP4 crystal chassis, ALT custom scratch hilt

So basically im new here and I just wanted a place with people like me where I could share stuff like this so let’s get right to it!

So Im working on my next build and it’s my 2nd time working with a crystal chamber chassis but I have an issue. The chassis I got is from Superneox and it’s made for the Obi Wan Kenobi EP4 hilt but I got it with the intention of it being used with other hilts or making a custom hilt. I ran Into a bit of an issue with it being a bit too big than a 1" wide hilt, the chassis starts off somewhat slim-ish and gets slightly wider or thicker. I got an empty hilt that is 1" from top and is completely wider from the inside but when I try to fit the chassis from the inside the chassis stops just at the entrance where the blade would go I’m not sure what I could do here since the chassis IS meant for THAT specific model of the chassis and hilt.

Im open to ANY possible ideas and if possible I’ll post pictures of the progress on how the new saber comes along!

I have read your post several times but I am having difficulties visualizing your problem.

If your chassis is too long and/or too thick, then it is NOT meant for THAT one hilt ? :man_shrugging:t2:

Maybe you can post a photo of hilts and chassis next to each other.

Can you sand it where its too thick and add a tape wrap where it’s too thin?

Can you cut the length at the emitter side and glue your pcb holder/blade connector in place?

*Biased Opinion: Or just send the improperly cut or printed chassis back and get one that’s not got fitment issues. That alone is worth it going forwards. You’d be surprised at how often a cheaply or poorly printed or machined plastic chassis causes issues because it can flex or rattle around the inside of a hilt.
