A saber came back to my after being well used from age 10-14:
It’s made from a mix of hardware store parts, junk from the street, and specialty items for sabersmiths.
I did the acid etch with nail stickers and tape.
The switches functioned but the internal pixels were out. Speaker busted along with the housing from dueling with his dad.
It’s a 7/8" fixed zigzag blade, with a 1" overall ID and a 3/4" OD. The proffie is wired in and then folded over and inverted to reduce wire stress. Silicone wiring also helps for no-chassis builds.
With some wiring work, etc, I got the buttons to be individually addressable and reworked it into this:
