Hi all,
I’m new here and want to share the project I’m working on. I have a background in 3D modeling and 3D printing. I’m familiar with the proffie ecosystem mildly but it seems like it will be easy to catch on. So, I purchased an RC van a few weeks ago. It had headlights (warm white), full steering, suspension, two speeds, and two steering distances. I quite enjoy driving it and I’m pretty sure others do too. I started driving it to and from walks to work. I wanted more lighting for it so I ordered a sound and light module from GT Power here , I tried installing it, but since I’m new to RC I was confused by the wiring and gave up. I recently ordered a new rear axle and drive train. These fit poorly or not at all, on top of a set screw falling out so the wheel came off ----
So, I went to the WPL website and ordered a new receiver and controller, light kits (wired LEDs), a metal gearbox, and a new rear axle. While I was waiting for those to arrive, I painted the cab and seats, both interior and exterior. Fast forward to last night talking with my friend who does sabers. We discussed adding neopixels and a proffie 2.2 that I purchased during Lockdown. I initially thought of adding LEDs with integrated chips that make them blink and capacitors that will dim when the power is cut. I am looking forward to showing you all the progress on this project.
