Quantum Pixel blades options?

Has anyone had any experience with any of the quantum pixel blade options? I have come across options from Custom Saber Shop, Saberbay, and Electrum Sabercrafts. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!

I got my Quantum pixel blade from Saberbay. But I think they are all of SaberTec manufacture. Was pretty easy to insert and build. Very quick job.

How’s the quality and brightness? Do you find it brighter than a regular blade? More even lighting?

Its significantly more brighter. And yes the lighting is much more even. I like that particular blade a lot, but it drains the battery faster. Been making blades with cob 200 leds/m. Thats been pretty bright and even as well.

Thanks for the info!

I remember reading about those blades. My saber runs off the smaller 18650 battery, so I feel like a blade that drains more battery is a bad combination.

Also curious if the configuration needs to be adjusted for the number of LEDs the blade would be running (for Proffie)? Going off memory the standard blade is 130ish LEDs vs the 400-500ish LEDs on these super bright blades.

Those are issues I’ve considered. I don’t really use my sabers for long periods of time. They’re mostly for show and my own amusement.

I am aware there will be some coding requirements. That’s ok. The blade will be specifically for this saber.

The quantum blades and KR v3 have a higher pixel count but the four strips are wired in parallel, so the config only needs to reflect the number of pixels in a single strip–which come in four lengths: 108, 123, and 132 which mirror standard blade lengths [Note: those counts are for the available lengths of quantum strips, not the KR v3]. This reduces lag/maintains the frame rate despite the high pixel count; however, the wiring and battery still need to be powerful enough to drive all to 430 to 520 pixels.

Thanks for clarifying, Jedi_j. I was aware of the wiring requirements but it’s good to see the specifics here. I appreciate it!
