I saw this on Tom’s Hardware today and thought a flexible proffieboard might be interesting—that would be one way to get it to fit into a small hilt… then again, maybe not. Still, it looked interesting, so I thought I’d pass it along.
There’s a lot of empty space on an UNO though where the FPCB has room to move. When you’ve got as many densely-packed components as the proffieboard I think you’ll loose virtually all the flexibility… and that’s without the fact that only two layers would be pretty impractical I think.
It’s a neat little project, but I don’t think it would translate to proffie very well. (Debbie downer here, I know… sorry)
In my experience Proffie installs are usually diameter and wiring routing-limited. Being able to install it as a tube, may be even around the battery, specially if some care is taken on the aesthetics of the outer side, there might be something there.
