I bought a few days ago my very first lightsaber, i also bought 5 new fonts and I followed carrefully a few tutorials. Everything went smooth and seemed fine until the final upload. My board shows nowhere. Port is greyed out in arduino, my pc doesn’t seem to recognize my board. Not even a usb sound when I plug it in. I’m 99% sure my cable is charging AND data to data.
I tried a to search on my own but nothing worked, could you help me, I really don’t know what I’m missing ? Thanks a lot.
Try this:
Also make sure that you have Proffieboard V2 selected in Arduino → Tools → Board.
Proffieboard V2 is selected in Arduino.
And i tried the boot and reset thing from your link, nothing is happening…
Try a different cable.
Even if your cable is a data cable, it may be bad or simply not work very well with the proffieboard connector. Micro-usb is unfortunately the least reliable of all USB variants.
I’m gonna try more yes… cause really at this point i don’t know where is the problem lol.
I tried 3 different cables on differents ports of my PC (one is brand new, bought it for that), i’ll try more tomorrow hoping it will work.
If:
- You’re pressing BOOT+RESET the right way
- AND it doesn’t show up as “STM32 BOOTLOADER” on your computer. (make sure to check in “devices and printers”) regardless of how many cables you try…
Then the board is broken. Hopefully you have some warranty from wherever you bought it from.
One more thing though: Are you plugging the cable directly into the proffieboard, or are you plugging into some other port on the saber? (If other port, that could be a charge-only port…)
Ok **** me i feel so dumb, you were right i was connecting the board on the usb c port from the start (the charging port)… It was the micro usb slot directly on the board that i needed.
Didn’t worked at first (even if the board was now recognised) but with the proffie-dfu-setup it works perfectly now lmao
