Hi,I have a problem with disconnection and flickering D1 LED on the board.
This is my first time installing a fresh Proffie board and was in the process of setting up the drivers, ardino, OS etc.
I had the board connected to the computer while I was installing the software. Windows could recognise the connected device (sound notification) and the D1 LED was green the whole time. And then suddenly windows would play the connect/disconnect sound and the green light would flicker until it stopped.
Edit: If I wait for a few minutes and connect again then it lights up and the computer recognises it, but eventually turns into a disconnect, low flicker until it stops.
I never see it in COM ports, also the SD card doesnt show up
What could be the issue with the board? Thank you
First of all, the onboard LED isn’t meant to be constant, it’s supposed to do things.
There are two cases when the LED would be constant:
- The onboard program has stopped working.
- It’s in BOOTLOADER mode. (In bootloader mode, the LED is very very feint, but constant.)
There used to be a bug where ProffieOS would crash if there was no SD card in the board, which could maybe behave sort of like this. Maybe put an SD card in the board?
Also, the sound notifications in window can be misleading, because sometimes they make noises even if you just connect something that draw power, but isn’t actually recognized.
I recommend checking devices and printers instead. They keep making devices and printers harder to find though. This page may (or may not) be helpful:
Hey thanks for your response.
Hmm, it was definitely constant . Then when it flickered it was like random brown noise flicker.
Unfortunately there was nothing that I could catch in Device Manager. Now the board is not responsive at all.
Is the board supposed to get hot in some places while just being USB connected?
