Hello! The struggle continues. I’ve got novel issues popping up all the time now. Using a Proffieboard 3.9, I have an illuminated NPXL V4 and a pair of accent LEDs for a crystal chamber.
So connection issues; when connected to laptop via the USB Arduino IDE can successfully write to the board with the Verify button, but at all times it says at the bottom right [not connected] - this means I can’t use the Serial Monitor to troubleshoot anything. Any ideas how I can get Arduino to actively see the board?
I previously had a crackling speaker, managed to identify it via searching the forum as a power issue from a broken booster, fixed via bridging the 5v and Batt+ pads. But now I’m having a weird power problem; at first I was just getting occasional erroneous “low batter” warnings but now when initially powered on there’s not enough juice to turn the saber on. I get a clash sound effect, no lights on most presets. But! If I connect the USB cable, turn the saber on and then disconnect the USB cable, everything works fine until the battery killswitch is toggled again.
I don’t really understand this! There should be power or not, right? It seems like maybe some monitor is failing to detect power and forces everything off? But if it gets passed by using the USB power supply then it doesn’t check again and lets everything work?
Edit: never mind, it no longer reliably works after using the USB power to initially turn it on! Blech, feeling very discouraged, feel like I’ve totally ruined this thing. D:
Other data points; my default Batt- pad next to the GND is full of wire and solder, not connected to anything. I botched it and switched to the alt Batt- pad. I don’t think I’ve damaged any of the resistors regular, but there’s a black square FET on the SD card side of the board that looks a little melty. I don’t think it’s destroyed but uh, can see a little silver inside the black. Probably a bad sign >.>
