Painting Pommel of 89Sabers Annulus

Bought Annulus Hilt and wanted the Darker Satin Metal finish instead of the Chrome, because I didn’t want another finger print magnet & this will be my play around lightsaber.
Problem is that the pommel comes in grey, red, & gold & the darker one I got only comes with a grey pommel!

So I got it anyway & figured I might be able to by a different color pommel fro/m, but only 89Sabers will do that & they’re acting really sketchy about it.

Think I’m just going to paint or spray paint over the pommel. Best I can think of is something from Home Depot, but does anyone have any idea what that should be or if it should be something from somewhere else?

What color do you want now? It’s really the process that makes the big difference.

Sanding
Automotive Primer (sandable)
Light high grit sanding
Thin, multiple coats with whatever you choose as the color.
Maybe a top coat clear, matte

This is a picture of the one I have.

And I want the Pommel to look more like this gold color variate.

Really wanted the Yellow Pommel on this, but I just didn’t want another finger print magnet…

I see. It’s more like a chromed out gold.

Maybe try a color from

That shape of that pommel is very cool, but kinda looks hard to paint evenly. I’d use art store supplies unless the Home Depot near you has a good spray section.

You could also dry brush gold leaf paint or another bottled metallic.

I’ll think I’ll go by a local art store, but still try some of that spray paint from Montana Gold.
Be nice to have for any future weathering I might do

Any ideas of what color might work for something like this pommel? I was thinking maybe “Citrus”

Citrus looks cool. As with blade colors, it’s an ‘eye of the beholder’ situation.

You might see swatches of even samples sprayed when you’re that will help.

No matter what your color or process, keep those threads clean and taped off or sealed
