NPXL Led stays on after first boot and first retraction

Having an issue with the NPXL Led stays on after first boot and first retraction, then goes away after switching fonts or re igniting saber. Running proffieboard V2.2 and OS 6.8. I have tried updating to OS7 beta and still have the issue. Also have tried changing font styles as well. I have also posted about this in the Open Source Sabers (TeensySaber, ProffieBoard, FX-SaberOS, Arduino, DIYino) Facebook group. That post has videos/demonstration of the issue I am having. I’d like to see your config file.
I can try your config file on one of my boards and see if I then see the same issue.
Also, what version of the arduino-proffieboard plugin do you have?

I tried this on one of my proffieboards (with ProffieOS 7.5) but I was not able to reproduce the problem.

I noticed that the power (from the FETs) doesn’t turn off until a few seconds after the blade is black. Does the stray LED turn off if you wait a 5-10 seconds?

No the stray LED stays on and doesn’t go away until I either change fonts or ignite the saber again. I’ve also noticed that the stray led with flash on and then off when igniting the saber as well. It’s always red as well

So I looked at the video first video frame-by-frame, and I noticed two things:

  1. On one of the subsequent retractions, that LED goes red right before it turns off for some reason.
  2. It seems like the LED that has the problem isn’t the first one in the chain of LEDs, which is weird.

It makes me wonder if this is just a bad LED?
