No FAT32?

I am driving myself crazy! I had an underperforming SD Card. Bought a new/better SD Card. Trying to erase/format (Mac OS 12.7 as of 01/2025) the card but there is no FAT32 Option. Just Exfat, MS DOS Fat, and two MAC OS Extended formats. What did I do wrong here? I could flash the board with Arduino, but I get the Font directory not found sd card not found prompts on the saber when battery and proffie heart inserted.

Card is a Samsung U3 A2. I’m using Proffie 2.0

Old SD Card with Config file still works. Just new SD Card is problem.

Maybe nothing.

That’s a few versions back on Mac OS. In 15.2 there’s a MS-DOS (FAT32) option.

Try MS-DOS.

It’s definately not the Mac OS options.

I moved this to a new thread since it has nothing to do with the thread it was originally posted in.

I suspect that the card is is bigger than 32Gb. Some programs don’t like to create FAT32 partitions that big because FAT32 is not very efficient for large partitions. Options include, but are not limited to:

  1. Re-partition the card so that the first partition is smaller than 32Gb
  2. Use the SD Association formatter
  3. Use some other formatting program
