No Audio new board and install

Another install working on with issues. This time, no sound.

Nothing plays when I turn on the saber, nothing plays when I connect to usb on the board.
Serial monitor shows that sounds are playing and pointing at the correct sound files.
Serial monitor shows the volume is set correctly.

Some interesting things pulled from serial monitor with no battery installed, vol is showing as 0.00 on some effects and then later also starts reporting audio underflows.

If you type set_volume 500 in the serial monitor, does it stop working?

Did the following

get_volume
1000

set_volume 500
Saving Global State
Unmounting SD Card

get_volume
500

still detects swing and clash

Wait, I see it says “No Blade” as the font folder.
I’m guessing that’s not actually a font folder?

It is a font folder. I have used this same folder on other sabers. Its where store a subset of sounds for a “no_blade” configuration for blade plug effects (Neopixels on the hilt side PCB).

I still get no sounds when a blade is installed and other font folders are used. I have cycled through a few of my other styles with different font folders and none produce sound.

if you boot with no sd card in, does it speak ?
Did you try a different speaker?

Does the beep command work?

Booting with no SD card, still no sound.
I tried another speaker and no sound there either.
Measured voltage across speaker + and - when sound should be playing and measured 0 volts with multimeter.

Beep command does not produce any sound either. Had to try this on another board to verify what it should do, and yea, definitely no sound.

Try setting your multimeter to AC voltage.
If that doesn’t produce anything, then it would seem that there is something wrong with your board.

Switched to AC and measures 0.2.

Retried another new speaker and it worked fine this time.

Went back to the old speaker and found a loose connection at the pad from the pad on the speaker to the cone. Bridged that and it works now.

Thanks for all the troubleshooting help.
