So let me get the BS out of the way and feed the mob that will deliver a cyber beat down.
I bought a saber for my kid a few years ago.
Two actually.
I don’t remember where from but I know it came from overseas. (Lithuania I think?)
Anyhow, its a Proffie v2.2 and honestly, so far its worked for what he and I do with it.
So FFWD a few years… I was thinking the other day about modifying some of the sound fonts. Basically, I wanted to thin the herd of fonts.
Here’s the issue.
As I deserve, for purchasing from a… less than reputable source, I looked closer at the board and what do you know… No USB port. Looks like it was removed.
So what would you guys do?
Find a new USB port and install it?
Or, just order the latest Proffie?

If you have a soldering iron and some patience (and some small wire), you might be able to wire up to the USB pads and connect an external USB port.
Ideally though if you had a hot air station, you could buy a replacement microB port and just pop it right on.
If you have either of those tools are are willing to give it a shot, it looks like it was pretty cleanly removed, all the pads look fine, so it should be a relatively simple repair/jerry rig. (depending on the chosen option 
)

I think this might be one of the early Xenopixels which were just gimped Proffies. They had the USB connector removed due to hardware flaws.
Does it have the SD-card slot at the back ? If not, I don’t think you will be able to add/remove sound fonts. I bought one very similar for my son as well, but it was from China and in June 2024. I only took a quick look at it but it is a white board and no USB at the top. Will check tomorrow if it has any markings or SD-card reader. I was thinking of upgrading his board to a Proffie, once I figure out mine. At least my sons get to swing lightsabers while I figure-out the code.

That was a real thing. They didn’t have anything to do with Xenopixel. They were just sold that way for some reason, either bad production or somebody needed a bunch of USB connectors so they stole them from their inventory? LOL
I thought they were sold as Xenopixel? Then the v2 was their own board.
