Just wondering what sort of file formats I can use for quotes and stuff.
Only 44khz, 16-bit mono PCM WAV files are supported. You can convert the mp3 using programs like Audacity.
Technically there’s others too, but yes, 44100Hz 16 bit is recommended.
The extension (Pink) - The recommended format is .wav files that are 44khz, 16-bit mono PCM. ProffieOS also supports 11khz, 22khz, and 44khz .wav in both mono and stereo. You may also use .raw and .usl files, but they must be 44khz mono.
Additionally, it’s probably easier to just use Brian Connor’s sound font naming converter website.
Despite the name, it’ll also convert to the recommended audio format, optimize file structure, and of course, you don’t have to only use it for fonts, you can use it for quotes and tracks, and what have you.
No need to deal with downloading audacity and making sure everything’s setup correctly.
For the record, this is not a dumb question.
I’ve been contemplating adding mp3 support forever.
V2 boards don’t really have enough memory to make it work though.
