It has a proffie v2.2 board, 13350 battery, 20mm speaker, single accent pixel and large 20 pixel ring for muzzle flash.
The battery is in the grip, I used a cnc to open up the frame and make recesses in each grip panel. Its pretty tight. I also used a cnc to make the wire paths and opening for the proffie chassis.
The chassis is 3d printed and everything barely fits, but it worked!
The blaster is painted flat black, and I flame blued anything steel.
The it sounds pretty good imo, Not very basey, but that’s to be expected. I could not fit much in the box in the frame. It sounds better with the side panel on rather than off.
Do not take it in your hand luggage through an airport and if you put it in a checked bag make sure you ask the airline/airport for the right permit/authorization. I had a metal toy airsoft hand gun that got confiscated from my suitcase and the suitcase got delayed (I should have gotten the permit) but didn’t know it would apply for a metal toy gun). I had a second identical one that was refused to be packed in a container by the packing company for fear of having the whole container detained by the port authorities and me having to pay heavy port fee (and the container missing it’s boat).
What did you make it out of, like what did it look like before you started modifying it.
I actually made my own fonts from found source files.
I found the source files for a huge collection of star wars stuff a while ago, then edited the blasters sounds and cleaned them up into proper fonts. Recently I found that my auto sounds aren’t correct. I do not know if I messed up the naming or what, but they sound reversed or something. I need to look into that.
I found the source files for the Mando blaster from someone who posted an arduino project that played mp3s, so I did all of those, and copied the auto from another font. I just uploaded it too if you want to try it out.
That’s neat! I don’t have a blaster at the moment, but I’ve had ideas for projects I’d like to work on eventually.
I just remember looking and seeing there’s no where near as many people doing sounds for it as for normal saber sounds, so I was curious, and it’s cool to see you’ve made those
