A strange issue has developed.
Saber was working fine the other night but I noticed battery was draining even with kill switch off, so I figured out that id wired the kill switch in the +ve to the board and read that it should be in the -ve line to the board so then nothing would have power when the switch was off
In the meantime I have taken the killswitch out and wired +ve straight from battery to Batt In on board and left the -ve straight from battery to Batt Neg on the board as it was before - so the only real change i made was take the killswitch out and wire +ve straight to board
Since I have done that now my blade only lights up very dim and only red.
The blade connector baselit LEDs in the top of the hilt work fine, and they share the same data and voltage wires, this was working fine previously. But the blade will not light properly.
Could it be the pixel strip gone? Its literally only been sat on the side since the last time I used the saber…
The only other thing was the battery had gone basically dead from being left in the hilt, I have charged this up to at least 75% though and its still doing it, I have tested the battery voltage when the blade is in and it reads 3.8v
The pins on the blade connector at the hilt also register full 3.8v too
Any ideas or things to diagnose?
One other thing to note is that when the blade is in then the hilt leds that work fine with the blade out also go dim and red
I dont have another pixel strip to try atm and my supplier is out of stock
