How to implement blade detect without a BD pad on the neopixel connector?

Hey there! Iā€™m building my first custom saber and I currently have a neopixel connector for the hilt that lacks the pads for blade detection. Is it possible to utilize any other pads on the connector (there are three positive, three negative, and the one data pad) to make use of this feature, or will I have to deal with using a physical switch? Thanks :slight_smile:

only 3 pins is pretty low to start with. Isolating one of them to make it a blade detect pin would leave all the current flowing through only 2 pins.
You could use BladeID instead, provided you have an uninterrupted data run to the main blade.

Gotcha. I might as well order a different connector that does support blade detection to make the whole process simpler. Thank you!

Why not use the ShtokCustomWorx NPXL V4 connector that has it? Makes your install so much easier.

I did end up ordering a Shtok connector, and I plan on using the one I have now for testing purposes until that one arrives
