Open source != public domain, and even if it did, what you’re saying about there being no ownership whatsoever still makes virtually no sense at all (even when things are in the public domain, they’re still generally attributed to someone).
Open source, at its core, simply means code is being shared… that doesn’t mean anyone forfeits ownership of their intellectual property.
There are monetary gains to be had from using a recognizable and well-respected name in a product. Proffie is already a respected and well-known name/project within the community. I think you’re being far too generous and naive in your understanding of Ultrasabers’ motivations.
Sure… if it were a company that had any respect to their name. Ultrasabers does not, and thus it’s off-putting at best, for the reasons described above.

I think you don’t actually know how open-source works.
Open-source relies on ownership to work.
By default, you have copyright on everything you create. To be able to let other people use it and copy it, a license is required, and only the owner can assign licenses to works.
As ryryog25 points out, open source != public domain, and in fact many countries don’t even have a legal framework for explicitly making something public domain. In the US, public domain only happens after the copyright expires, which takes a long time. (See Disney, Mickey Mouse, etc.)

imagine being so petty you take down your lifes work you gave away just because you dont like a company. total copyright infringement stealing the thundercat sound fonts. Definition of Indian giving is taking away something already given, thought id mention this on youtube so i dont get banned from a proprietary forum cite 
thats like someone making an art peice that everyone likes to look at and taking it down just because someone you dont like looks at it…this lightsaber font you created has such personal memorys with me i cannot describe it , your a true saint in my eyes for creating it, share it with the world. and to the proffie guy, really helped people with your work, dont hark on someone taking your name as your legacy in the lightsaber community is set in stone no matter what ultra proffile does because as YOU said oscar said , the greatest form of respect is to immatate which is what ultra sabers did…

I have a question… if this is actually resolved, why is this conversation still going back and forth like a political debate? At this point it seems like the OP just wants to be correct for the sake of being correct. I’d say this has played out and it’s time to move on.

im not sure but i believe my comments caused fett263 to take down his os6 styles on his website or its just me,Fett263's ProffieOS6 Style Library
oh my mistake for some reason the style editor does not load on multiple computers/browsers/vpns…any help on troubleshooting why is is not loading but the os7 is?

I loved you.” - Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars: Episode III or “Only a Sith deals in absolutes.” or even Revenge does do wonders for the will to live, don’t you find?” is fitting in a lightsaber forum where a creator of light codes is arguing/ banning/ deleting style codes and comments in a power complex ?
