Got my "Dark Matter" install & it's burning throught battery!

Just got my “Dark Matter” install about 2 weeks ago, & like I thought it’s blowing through battery life super fast!

It’s pretty much a Double-Bladed Lightsaber with 3 blades so you can see why.
Right now I’m using a Keeppower 18650 Neopixel Battery 15A 3000mAh Button Top I got off SaberBay & it literately stays on for an hour at most (maybe) if I’m using extremely simple blade configs on it.
Not a huge deal for me really, but it would be nice to not have to carry around a screw key & a battery or 2 at a FanCon.
Any tips other than just getting a 5000mAh battery?

An hour is actually pretty long runtime for that small of a battery and that many LEDs…

You could DimBlade, but besides that LEDs just use a lot of power.

You won’t find a much bigger 18650 that can handle high amperage. Any you do are probably fake. I think the largest I’ve seen is ~3200. There’s a 4000mAh one out there but it’s lower amperage and since you’re driving two blades I wouldn’t bother with it.

The complexity of the bladestyles has virtually nothing to do with it. It’s the brightness and number of LEDs (depending on the color) that are on.

I’d recommend buying yourself some more batteries, that’s pretty common.

Ah, I was hopping not to here that cause this isn’t the easiest chassis to access despite what the video shows.
Anyways thanks for the info & letting me know that it has to do with the brightness. That might not help that much on this, but that info will transfer over to creations of mine.

Halloween is coming up & I always do Darth Nihilus, so I battery life on my OLD Xeno v2 Darth Nihilus won’t be something to worry about if I choose to finally upgrade my to a Proffie finally. (just wish I could get rid of the charge port)

Color choice can help a bit. All white eats a lot of battery, so you can swap out your effect colors etc

Any all day cosplay/trooping and you can expect to have to do a battery swap

I usually use Fett263’s Settings Menu to go up and down in brightness.
