Just picked up a new hilt running the V3 board and BT-909 Bluetooth so I can play with Force Sync.
The fist thing I noticed is how instinctual the setup is.
The second thing I noticed is that while selecting clash that it does not disengage like other effects will like with lockup or drag where you simply tap that again to end the effect. tapping clash a second time doesn’t end the effect. Only tapping drag will.
*Not sure if this is specific to iPhone’s and the latest Apple iOS or something inherent in the app.
Hilt Details: Sabertrio Senza, but as usual I am running standard ProffieOS. In this case 8.x
Only Lockup and Drag effects can be stopped by a second tap because only these two effects are infinite, they play until you stop them. All other effects are short and stop by itself, so second tap only plays them again. So what you are experiencing is all correct in both iOS and Android app versions.
Also it’s worth to mention that ForceSync app on iOS is very old (5 years old) so it’s missing a lot of new improvements I have added recently to the Android version, I’m currently working on updating the iOS app to the same level as the Android app and even further.
Ahhh, I totally didn’t factor the effect duration bit in. So I guess tapping drag it-is then.
Thanks Man!
I’m down to definitely play with an updated version for the Apple phones. Lemme know what support you may want from me. I’m always happy to throw some time in to assist with testing to get an update out quickly.
Relating to the OS8 thread FWIW if using Force Sync it now pairs after non-use (but still Bluetooth listed on the phone) to an iPhone way faster and you get a few more feet of range to mess with people.
Any ProffieOS firmware changes or updates should make absolutely no effect on how it pairs to the phone via bluetooth because it’s the BT909 bluetooth module pairs to the phone, not the Proffieboard.
Hopefully soon, I asked him and he mentioned it’s in the works.
I wanna mess with people from more than 2-3’ away if they’re messing around with or using one of my hilts so they totally can’t see it coming. *Which brings up the thought of if there’s a way to extend the range, like an internal antenna wire or other things to try out.
What I meant:
Since it can’t be coming from ProffieOS or your Proffieboard, there might have been an iPhone IOS update that helped do that. Or you got a different phone?
Sorry I must have been tired when I wrote the previous post.
All good, I got what you meant and while yes it related to a different iPhone and the newest iOS for them, the app still needs updating for the newest Apple compatibility. There’s times where the connectivity drops down to where you need the phone at the hilt, you lose the connection, or a bug has appeared locking a board up to where only a reset will fix it. *Only with the Apple phones.
Either way right now Android etc is solid, we just need the Apple version current.
To improve the bluetooth signal range and connection stability you just need to open a hole in the metal hilt in the area where your bluetooth module sits and cover that hole with non-metal material (leather, plastic, wood) — perfect for sabers with already plastic design elements (like Graflex, MPP Vader), wooden or leather grips because then you can cut a big hole under and cover it with matching plastic 3D-printed insert + wood or leather on top. The BT909 module range in open area is up to 100 meters, no need to experiment with external antennas
