DFU Errors, but found port

Hey all, so after yesterday I was able to get the proffieboard to show up on a port - COM5 proffieboard (no luck uploading yet, as it is a dfu error again)

I can go into the serial monitor and i believe it is communicating with the board. If I enter RebootDFU - what should happen? What happens now is I get a tone from my pc, and under port it no longer says (Proffieboard) next to COM5. If I got to upload it fails again but with different issues than the fdu error, like it cannot find COM5.

So even though, I broke the buttons on my proffie board for boot & reset should I be able to use it still if this is the case?

When you enter “RebootDFU”, or use BOOT+RESET, the board should go into bootloader mode.
In bootloader mode, there is no port, no SD card access, and the board will show up as “STM32 BOOTLOADER” in the device managager, so none of the “normal” ways to recognize the that the board is connected will work. Usually it’s easiest to use the “devices and printers” app to see the device, although that one can be hard to find since they keep re-designing the settings screen.

I got it to work finally! Thank you. I think the issue was I uninstalled a bunch of drivers to my HOTAS One I use for flight simulator!

On initial inspection, it appears I lost some of the functions that came with the orginal config of the saber. If I hold the button while off it no longer cycles back to the previous font. I only goes forward to the next font as normal. Looks like I may have lost tip drag as well… I’ll review my config and reach out if I can’t figure it out.

Say it with me: f u Guillemot.

That could be the bladestyles, but if you don’t hear sound either that’s maybe your orientation is backwards?

It’s also possible the controls are just completely different from what you’re used to.

This would seem to corroborate the controls are just different. You can read through the top comments of the prop file you’re using to get the controls.
