Detonator sound font

  1. In order to test my multi_prop.h I need a detonator sound font. Is there a free/royalty-free one somewhere ?

  2. If not, no problem, I’ll make my own but what files would be needed to be included ? I am guessing in, out, hum ? What else.
Which one would be arming “click twlee blee twlee blee twlee …”, the disarm “clicshh” and “kaboom” ?

  3. Also, why does the detonator.h prop used button POWER & AUX2 instead of POWER and AUX ? Are two buttons necessary to do “so little” (on, off, armed and “bleeptwing”, disarmed in time or boom)?

  4. Could it work with a one non-latching button?

  1. Not that I know of. I bought it as it was inexpensive, imo.

  2. ProffieOS Documentation: Sound Font Configuration lists the files. Looks like there are 4.

  3. From my recollection when I made mine, it’s just how proffiezorns ended up. I think I changed mine to AUX.

Cool, thanks, I was not aware of this page.

So no need for in, out & hum ? Does your font have them ? Or more specifically, what file names does your font have, just those 4 ?

And why 2 buttons, is there something that could not be achieved with one button?

Not sure, but as it stands, one powers it on (the slider), and the second activates the count down.

I can get you a list of wav files tomorrow.

Thanks a lot. Did you put all those on your SD card or just the ones suggested by profezzorn ?

You guys might find some sounds you like in here:

Cool,
I already made my:

I am guessing that:

are optional quotes that will not cause “Error in font directory” if they are missing, correct ?

Out of curiosity, what do they say ? I am guessing one is “He’s got a thermal detonator! Aaah!” and another is Jabba laughing ?

This error won’t play if files are not present, only if there’s an out of sequence file, or hierarchical issue

They’re just typical machinery-like sounds powering on and off…

Out of curiosity, if I forget to put my SD card back-in the ProffieBoard after I make modification to it and turn the ProffieBoard ON, I get “ERROR IN FONT DIRECTORY”, “ERROR IN FONT DIRECTORY”, “SD-CARD NOT FOUND” from the speaker. Is that what it is supposed to do ?

Yeah because there’s no SD card with fonts on it.
To append what I said above about when ERROR IN FONT DIRECTORY plays, it also says that when the font folder it’s looking for doesn’t even exist. (Typically a misspelling, but in your case, complete absence)

And it says it twice because I have “fontname;common” so it’s looking for two folders that “don’t exist”. Correct ?

Edit: so if I want a sound to not play, can I just delete it from the font folder ?(assuming it is not also in common)

Yes
and yes, that’s one way.
