Hi guys, completely new to this neopixel stuff but I am building a 3D printed staff that lights up on both ends and have a Xeno 3.0 board but I’m just a bit confused on the wiring. The board is inside a Damien saber core and that will be inserted into into a 3D printed tube. My plan was to keep the wires that already light up one strip of 144 ws2812 and run that to one end and then for the other end of the staff I would have another strip of LEDs and solder the three wires on it to the same pads as the first strip. I figured that will work since I want both ends having the same effect. But after researching I’m confused because some people are mentioning in series and parallel and I just want to make sure I’m doing it right and not burning anything down lol. Should I be okay wiring it like that? I’ll provide pictures for what I plan to do for wiring. I plan on doing it like the picture but ignore the third strip that they have pictured.
Generally speaking this forum is for help with the Proffieboard, not the Xeno series.
That being said, you are looking to wire you strips in parallel. Not sure if this board will suddenly explode on you . The main issue would be if you have enough power from your battery and coming from the board to light up your total number of LEDs
Thank you! Sorry I was not aware it was a proffieboard forum
There is no rule against asking about other boards on this forum, but since I started this board to have a place to discuss proffieboard, and other related stuff, that is the primary thing people talk about here. Other open-source boards tends to spark som interest as well, but for the most part, questions about proprietary boards are best asked in some forum dedicated to support for those boards. Since knowledge of proprietary boards are closely guarded secrets, it’s best to ask the people who know those secrets. (And so far, those people don’t hang out on this board much.)
