Config blade style size

Why is it I could upload a 10 blade style config 5 months ago using OS 6 :thinking:and the exact same config now has to many blade styles as to get the 15 packages error?
Now I can only use 6 of the 10 blade styles :pensive:

Obviously there is some difference.
Compiling the exact same files with the same version of the arduino-proffieboard should use up exactly the same number of bytes each time.

Are you using the latest version of the arduinio-proffieboard plugin?

What is “the 15 packages error?”

When you have too many blade styles in the config and Arduino can’t compile and gives an error 15 packages

Yes using the exact same config on the exact same
Computer with the exact same Proffieboard plugin :thinking:

Then you would also get the same result.
Something must have changed.

Not sure what “15 packages error” means though. Maybe you are misinterpreting what the compiler is saying? Please also post the compiler output.

These aren’t in 6.7, are you uploading the current git master? That’s pre-OS7, so it is not the same OS.

This error means your config uses up too much Flash memory. However, you need this define, it’s listed as required for Edit Mode in the Set Up Instructions it will free up more memory. But if you’re using wrong version I recommend getting OS6.7

No worries, there was a lot in OS6, but without that define you’re wasting a large chunk of memory.

I still don’t understand why the config worked a months and a half ago on the same OS6.7 and now it don’t.

I’ve had to shorten it up by 4 blade styles

You have defines that didn’t exist in OS6, so you’re using a different OS or changed something since then, it’s not apples to apples. Those defines I noted above were just added to the pre OS7 testing version.

Additional questions:
Where did you download ProffieOS?
What settings are you using in Arduino → Tools → USB Type? What about Arduino → Tools → Optimise?
If you have multiple version of ProffieOS on your computer, are you sure that Arduino opened the right one? (Because it can be stubborn and confusing about opening the wrong one in some circumstances.)

PS: The “15 package” thing, is a part of the installation path of the arduino compiler, it’s not the actual error message. The error is this:
