Another issue

Hey all…

I’ve got one last issue… I hope. I finally have everything working except for one small thing. When I cycle through a my sound fonts/blade styles, there are a few that, instead of the boot sound file, I just get this small beep, BUT everything else associated with that font/blade file works. I checked both my config file and sound folders. Everything is named properly, no fonts are numerically out of order. Everything seems to line up, but I just can’t get rid of the small beep when cycling (which I can cycle through the entire font list).

Thanks all =]

If the offending font folders have “font.wav”, then perhaps the format if the wav is incorrect.

I am unsure if there is a way to check what format it is. Perhaps with audacity?

VLC also can show you the format.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help!

You can run your offending fonts through:

I will turn any wav, mp3, and more to the right ProffieOS wav format.

It’s Brian

Sorry, I mixed up the names.

the “boot.wav” file doesn’t have to be in a boot file to work actually. You can just name “font.wav” & put it in the main sound font folder & it’ll prioritize that in instead.

Just to clarify things:
boot.wav plays when the board first powers up.
font.wav plays when changing presets.

And font.wav plays if boot is not found.

What happens if either are present, but corrupted or the wrong format?

Not at the moment, but I just proposed that with a PR.

If the file is not in an acceptable format, it just plays nothing or a beep, depending on which sound it is. Serial Monitor may or may not report it tried to play it, I don’t remember.
