1st proffie build

hey guys ,I’m stuck on the stuff you have to download… ANY ONE DO THIS ON A CHROMEBOOK?I reached out to a computer geek buddy and he just said a Chromebook was just a big phone and it would take a lot of work to do it and just get a computer with windows to follow along. I need to do this to even make my saber turn on correct?(our would it still turn on from SD card…have a giggle if Stoopid question glad I could help you smile cuz I’m not… its a neopixel
I sent him the proffie set up tutorial on you tube so he could see what it was and never really said if he could /would do it. so does anybody out here use a Chromebook to do this?

Does the saber work currently?
What are you looking to do?

I’m not aware of anybody programming a Proffieboard from a chromebook.
(Assuming that’s what you’re trying to do.)

i was yes but learning that I’m making a lot of work for myself and why I’m having such a hard time with this… I need a new computer for it. so…the core I’m building now I got a board and SD card with it. if I set it up without hooking to a computer…would my saber even turn on?

hey also … THANK YOU!!! have no idea how you do it but Thanx for helping make the greatest toy even better!!!I’m just learning about you guys as I build this…thank you!!!

It depends on where you got the board from and if the manufacturer tested and programmed it properly. If they did it right, it will have the “default” configuration on it, which is probably not what you want, but it would turn on.

Since it’s browser based, wouldn’t the configuration page’s “Program Board Now” button work? (does that use pike?)
Maybe that’s not been updated in some time though.

The web programmer should work on chromeos, but recent reports is that it’s broken.

Well on Chrome browser anyway, it does seem to get stuck. One time it compiled and showed programming a few repeated lines (it says may take a few minutes), but ultimately never finishes.
Now it’s just sitting at

with the Disconnect button the only option.

Does Arduino Cloud works from a Chromebook? I have to wait until my son returns from school to test it.

unknown. let us know.
