The tool you would want/need for this would be a logic analyzer. It would tell you if bits are flowing one way and the other. I wouldn’t assume you have one of those though, but there are some sketches you can run on an arduino that lets it do something similar. 115200 baud is slow enough that you don’t need anything really advanced to test and analyze it.
so what kind of sketch am I looking for? do i need to download a new plugin. I saw on amazon they’re like 15 bucks or so.
I don’t know, I have one of these that I use:
The cheap ones on amazon would probably be fine for just checking some serial signals though.
trying to find a sketch, and I did find there is a few serial Uno or Mega sketches. though the serial port does do a loopback,
I typed hello, work and the serial output was visible.
so the usb to ttl looks to be fine.
I just don’t understand why the response is not happening, is there any test I can do on my board if my pin is working. for either the rx or tx. I know the gnd works cause I use it for the st-link.
P.s. when you feel like you suck just remember someone CHARGED another person to “mod” this hand held Nec.
You could set up RX / TX as buttons and see if shorting them to GND makes your saber turn on and off.
