Because ProffieOS 6.x read the motion sensor more often, clash thresholds are a more sensitive. However, the maximum is now 16, so that should be fine…
I have my various ones set to 4.0, FYI. 2-3 might be a bit low.
Is the audio filter applied by default or do you need to activate it with the define?
It needs to be activated with the FILTER_CUTOFF_FREQUENCY
define.
While we’ve done a fair amount of testing, it still not clear how much it actually helps.
Hello. So I downloaded ProffieOS 6.3 just recently. Downloaded to my Proffie no problem. But experience a lot of false clashes while swings and when pressing the aux button for blaster effects gives me false end locks and end drags. I don’t know why it’s doing that but shouldn’t be. Had to go back to OS 5.7 and works beautifully.! So Am I miss something on the OS are others having this problem too? Let me know thank you.
Try increasing your clash threshold, OS6 is reading the motion sensor more often that OS5 did so it’s much more sensitive. As Fredrik noted earlier, the new max is 16.
Try 4.0 or higher and see that fixes. If it still persists try to replicate in Serial Monitor to see what’s triggering.
Yeah I’ve had set to 4.0 but I’ll try 16. Thanks Fernando.!
Well 16 is the max the board can detect so maybe start at 4.5 and move up in small increments from there or it’ll be super difficult to trigger a clash
I tried going to 7.0 but still the same thing.!
Then connect to Serial Monitor and try to replicate so we can see what’s actually being detected. Post the Serial Monitor using the three ticks ``` to open and close.
like so
Never tryed that before. How does that work if you don’t mind me asking?
With your board connected to Arduino go to Tools > Serial Monitor and then replicate what you were experiencing, it will tell us what the saber is actually detecting. Obviously be cautious with the cable connected so you don’t rip off the port.
I’ll do that thanks Fernando.!
Also, just want to make sure you updated the Proffieboard plugin to v3.6 in Boards Manager, correct?
Yes I did.!
What prop file are you using?
Not sure which one cause they’re various of configs on the prop and I really don’t use them quite often but they’re the ones that come with the OS6
Would need to change one of the configurations on the prop files?
Does your config file have a CONFIG_PROP section?
If so, what does it say?
No, I’m just trying to see if there is some thing prop-specific going on.
However, if you’re not picking a particular prop, then you’re using the basic saber prop, and I know it doesn’t do anything particularly interesting with clashes, and raising the clash threshold should work.
I should probably improve the “monitor clash” command, to show the clash strength. That would at least give you an idea if how high the clash threshold would have to be to avoid problems.
