ProffieOS 7.9 (testing)

Ok, so I made a ProffieOS 7.9.
It contains three bugfixes:

  • clockspeed fix (deeper sleep)
  • glitch neopixel fix
  • a for SAVE_STATE which incorrectly used SAVE_DYNAMIC_DIMMING instead of SAVE_BLADE_DIMMING

While I’ve verified that the two first fixes work, I’m not 100% confident that they don’t break anything, so I’m going to only publish the link to 7.9 here until some people test it and let us know it works fine:

I tested this for the deep sleep.

switches no longer wake the board. I have to reset using the kill switch to get it to work. I’m guessing it’s not a config issue since I used the same one as on my 7.7 upload…

In fact, as far as I can tell, the board is completely locked out until resetting the power. It doesn’t even show up in Arduino at that point. Interrupting power fixes that…

Same issue, Nice to know it’s not just me. Had to use kill switch or kill key to reboot. Reverting back to OS7.7 solved it. You have the link to my PasteBin if you need the config.

I had a similar issue with whatever version you had in the masterOS on github, when you assisted me with my neopixel glitch last monday (jun 12?). I was using that OS for a v2.2 install last night, and it wouldn’t even reach the idle time sleep I had set (originally 15min) before it would fully shut down. Only kill switch reset would wake it back up. It was pretty much off after 60sec. I didn’t try testing sooner than 60sec. Reverting to OS7.8 resolved the issue.

So, while i did not have an issue with that idle off time on that v3.9 board install last week, this v2.2 one seemed to. Apologies, if it’s unhelpful that I am not speaking of this 7.9 version, but I’m under the assumption you’ll be able to track the changes, since I’d only used whatever was available last Monday in the masterOS folder. Both sabers are now off to their respective owners, so I don’t know if I can provide more insight.

Yeah, this 7.9 zip is a dud, now I just need to figure out why.
Unfortunately I’m off to Japan for two weeks, so I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to figure out until I come back.

Perfect time for SW Celebration! Also a lot of new additions to Tokyo Disney that I’m planning on going on (thank goodness I still got fellow ex-Cast Members now working there so I don’t have to pay full price!).

Probably moot but the SAVE_STATE fix is working at least on my darksaber tests.

(continual clashes/etc on serial monitor still showing up without the earlier bugfix).

Just wanted to check where things stood on 7.9.

I am having the flickering issue with 7.8, (pixel connector flickers when pulsing), so updated to 7.9 posted here which fixes it. But of course, there’s the wake issue with 7.9. Not a huge deal, but wondering whether a fix is on the way.

I need to make a new release (7.10) which have the pixel fix, but not the clock speed change.
I’ve just been very busy lately so I haven’t gotten around to it. Sorry about that.
