ProffieOS 7.8 - Idle Hum randomly dies (and other minor audio dropout)

Ok @NoSloppy I formatted the SD carefully, put all the files back on, and followed your instructions from our previous conversation:

Open Applications/Terminal.
Type cd (that’s cd with a space), then drag the SD card icon onto the Terminal window to auto-fill the path. Hit return.
Type cd common to go into the common folder.
At this point, if you type ls -al you should see a directory listing of all the Voicepack files and folders, including invisible ones that are the same names but start with a dot.
These are what you will remove next.

Type cd .. to go back up one level to the root of the SD card.
CONFIRM that the prompt says the path to the SD card root, something like /Volumes/SDcardName
Then type (or copy and paste this)
find . -type f -name '.*' -delete

Doing ls -al again now should show the files and folders starting with a dot are gone.
You can cd common and list the contents, should have just the actual sound files in there.

Put in Proffieboard and test.

The Spotlight privacy list fixed the ejection issue and setting Arduino’s USB setting to just ‘serial’ also helped. However, even after all of this, idle hum still dies the same as described above. Really weird, wondering if I permanently damaged the SD somehow.
