What is the 3 step method? Not familiar with that.

So redid the config so it was not too big. That uploaded fine.
Downloaded the Madame Leota Voice Pack from NoSloppy (Thank you and coffee sent).
Renamed everything accordingly (At least I thought I did) Got font directory not found.
I ran effects on the Serial Monitor and got:

Sorry I been having so many questions y’all but I truly appreciate it being new.
“Font directory not found” means literally that.
One (or more) of the directories specified in the config file cannot be found on the SD card.
The “effects” command doesn’t help with this, because it only lists what files were found.
Since all the files were found in “common”, I assume that the font directory (Duel_Bandit_Proffie ?) is the one that was not found on the SD card.
I can’t access the “SD card screen shot”, so I don’t know what it is in there.
(Btw, if you know how to use cmd or powershell, you can just copy-paste directory listings from there rather than using screenshots.)
I had restricted access to the screen shot, it has been removed so you should see it now.
Apologies I am unfamiliar with using cmd or powershell. If you have any references on how I can try to use them.
Duel_Bandit_Proffie is on the SD card. That is the font that usually makes a boot .wav when powered up.
So when do you get “font directory not found” ?
When you boot up?
When you go to the next / previous font?
When you go to a specific font?
When it happens, what does the serial monitor say?
When it boots.
Do I need to run a command on Serial Monitor?
No, you don’t need to run a command, it should tell you what the directory is that it cannot find.
However, sometimes text gets dropped at boot time in the serial monitor. So you may need to use the n (for next preset) and then p (for previous preset) commands to make sure you get all the output. Also make sure to resize the window so you don’t just see the last couple of lines.
So I plugged it in and typed p and n to go thru 2 of them and got this:

I renamed 2 of the presets and folder on the sd card to see if that made a difference, it did not after uploading the updated config.
UPDATE:
Erased and reformatted the SD card to add the fonts and common all over again. Made sure everything is renamed. Font Directory Not Found error has gone away.
New error is Error in Font Directory. I have gone through all the folders in the SD card and everything seems okay and numbered properly. Where else can I check or might be missing. Also the delay has come back to the SD card but that may just be the SD card now after reformatting.
Serial Monitor remains your friend. The effects command along with just watching the serial monitor in general when switching to the preset.

I got this and not familiar with what I am looking for. The things it says are MISSING, are actually there on the SD. Also, when I scroll thru using “n” or “p” its says Font Directory not found but that error does not happen when booting. Fun stuff!

IT WORKS!!! Reformatted the SD card with the SD Card Formatter recommended. Earlier I did not use that. Reloaded the same Folders and now there is no lag or error message!!
