Okay this works now. And the blip is gone too.
There may be a new issue though. For extra coolness, I was working on making the accent strip next to the new indicator read the battery level so I could see how full the battery was while charging.
It appears that while powered by USB (i.e. charging), it always displays as full charged. Is the board not able to read the battery while plugged into USB?
Yeah, when charging, the board will read the charging voltage rather than the battery voltage.
I assume there is no way around that?
Does this affect the charging indicator? WIll it still turn off when it is “done” charging or will it just stay on while plugged in?
There is currently no way around that.
I would need to design the board in such a way that ProffieOS can disable charging for short periods of time to take an accurate battery reading. However, I designed the charge circuit to be independent of the CPU so that charging would always work. That may have been a mistake.
Something to keep in mind for the next proffieboard I guess.

What about your thoughts on the indicator? I am charging a battery to full now to see what’ll happen. But do you think it should turn off when done charging? Or will that USB issue keep it on while plugged in.
I think the charging signal will turn off once the battery is full. Although it will turn on again at some point, maybe “blip” as well.
Yeah just tested it while working on other stuff. Fully charged battery plugged in for 60 minutes and it didn’t turn off at all.
Well at least it indicated when it’s charging haha.
