Hello, new here. Just completed my first build and using the fett263 button control for my one button Kestis saber.
I’ve enabled fett263 edit mode menu and have it working correctly. However, I really want to simplify it a bit more. Really all I want to edit in real time (for now) are the volume and brightness controls. Since color and presets can be selected outside of this menu, I would like to leave that alone.
If possible, where in the saber_fett263_buttons.h config file would I be able to disable certain edit options from being prompted with the standard (\) method? I’m guessing this would be the best path to do accomplish this. Line number will help.
The Sabersense button prop file doesn’t use edit mode menus, but still has volume control, and you can use the Array Selector to give you a global brightness control across all presets without needing to have any special blade styles.
However the button controls for it are different to the Fett263 prop, so you’d need to get used to them, which might be a deal breaker for you.
But if you’re interested, this video explains a bit more:

Thank you for the suggestion and excellent work on the prop file. I do like some of the features and ease of use. Playing with the arrays would be an interesting way to clean up selections. I will check it out in the meantime.

And if you want really simple, there is always the basic saber prop.
(Which can be fitted with various menus in OS8, one option is just a volume menu.)

Just use:
#define FETT263_EDIT_SETTINGS_MENU
Enable Edit Settings Menu (Volume, Clash Threshold, Blade Length, Gestures/Controls, Brightness)
I recommend setting USB Type = “Serial + WebUSB” under Arduino > Tools to allow for style, font, track, color editing via ProffieOS Workbench
Cannot be combined with FETT263_EDIT_MODE_MENU
Requires ENABLE_ALL_EDIT_OPTIONS
My prop has a ton of customization to make it as simple or complex as you want via defines just look through the Defines section if you want to further enable/disable features.

Awesome. I guess I could have noticed the big red NEW next to those defines, haha. I’ve crammed so much reading in the past few weeks it has started to jarble. Appreciate all the help from the masters, and will weigh my options. I’ve already given myself some muscle memory to the fett263 so that would probably be my best option.

If you like gesture controls, Fett263’s prop is the most interesting, IMO. I have
#define FETT263_EDIT_SETTINGS_MENU
in all of my sabers. You get the ability to make the primary adjustments for most users, plus the cool social ability moves.
But there’s and elegance to Sabersenses’s prop too

@Abe_Abdollahi FWIW I’ve ran EditMode since it came out and have some of my/our hilts even setup for EditSettings and yeah, totally worth it when you also add-in the OS7+ Library Bladestyles.
@Fett263 put a TON of work into all of this and it’s amazing still.
*Not knocking on what you came up with @Sabersense, youngest has it running in his spare hilt now and wants it kept there.
