Yeah, the clear edges make it look more like a bright core with glowing outer.

I’ve got a 1 inch thick clear poly tube so my sons saber.
It has a 12w rgbw in hilt chip.
I’ve looked at ways to diffuse his blade but also thought I’d ask you guys.
I’m planning on using film and roughing up the tube a bit.
Is there anything more that could help get a nice even blade?
Maybe a mirrored tip…but of course at the cost of some tip brightness. However, the spill through the edges might be a good enough blend as opposed to a concentrated “too bright” tip

I’ve seen some people remove a small portion (say a 5mm circle from the reflecting tape) to allow a bit of light through for the tip but didn’t know how good this would be.
I,ve got a hollow clear tip for it but I think I will try a solid one with a mirror as you suggest.
It will be my first go at this so will play around and see what works.
Pay day tomorrow so I’ll be getting some bits😁
