I know proffie is the best board for audio, but what is the best speaker and hilt combo to have for the maximum balance of loudness and clarity (being loud without distorting like most factory speakers). LIke what exactly makes for the best balance of the two? I’ve heard that sabertrio is known for making amazing-sounding hilts and have a unique pommel design so if the best is one there than just reply with the link! I know the best hilt for audio probably isn’t a star wars character hilt, but if you know of a good character hilt for this then list that along with the best hilt period (like a custom design probably).
There are loads of really great sounding hilts. Two in my collection are the Creepy Uncle with a 28mm speaker, and the One Replicas SSMp with a 22mm bass speaker.
Shout out to the Graflex for being absolute dogshit.
With a little ingenuity, you can improve the volume and sound quality of the Graflex this much.

Nice! A 33mm titan on the graflex sounds awesome. I have one of those speakers looking for a home so might take that on as one of my next builds. Did you have to modify the hilt to fit?

With vintage replicas, if you don’t significantly improve the sound venting, the reflected air vibrations will interfere with the cone and cause terrible noise.
Also, the vibrations simply travel to the slide switch, causing it to wobble constantly and produce unwanted noise.
I also tried installing the 33mm model on the KR FXkit, but since this switch is a push-type, there’s no wobbling and it works well.

Wow that speaker looks massive lol. I think I gonna go with the skylar from sabertrio since I don’t have a ton of money to waste on a movie replica and I don’t want to go with the absolute cheapest one they have cause it looks disappointing lol. I wanted to go with the sologaard but it’s a difference of like 325 vs 400. I think I’ll do the mirror silver finish too.
Wasn’t there an option to upgrade the Trio to the SO 28mm Dark Side speakers?
I’d recommend going for the Dark Side speakers, even if it means paying a bit extra.

yea they do I’ll probably get that. I’m gonna go with a saberbay show blade (1.15 mm thickness) as well for optimal cosmetics
Dark side 28mm is good! I used it in my latest build: KR sabers Erasmios. Also a very good sounding hilt!
I also used the SO Elite in another hilt. This was a 24mm though. Also very good sound but since I have mostly Sith-ish sound fonts the Dark Side sounds better

any tips on making the sound better for an obi wan ep 3 hilt (I think txq) that has very little space between the speaker and pommel?
Sadly I can’t answer that honestly. Usually a SO Elite or Dark Side speaker is a good upgrade overall. IMO, Especially if the original are Damien Sabers, LGT or TXQ.
However, my Erasmios also doesn’t have a lot of space but sounds good as long as the chassis is inside the hilt. When outside it’s very disappointing

I think it shows fairly conclusively that the speaker housing matters at least as much as the speaker itself. There is at least one free textbook on speaker housing design, but I have not yet read it to figure out if there is a way to apply it to hilts, which might just be too small for a proper speaker design.
